A nine-member inter-ministerial delegation from Timor-Leste participated in the Workshop on the Operationalization of the 𝘈𝘭𝘵𝘦𝘳𝘯𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘷𝘦 𝘋𝘪𝘴𝘱𝘶𝘵𝘦 𝘙𝘦𝘴𝘰𝘭𝘶𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯 (𝘈𝘋𝘙) Guidelines under the Upgraded 𝘈𝘚𝘌𝘈𝘕 𝘛𝘳𝘢𝘥𝘦 𝘪𝘯 𝘎𝘰𝘰𝘥𝘴 𝘈𝘨𝘳𝘦𝘦𝘮𝘦𝘯𝘵 (𝘈𝘛𝘐𝘎𝘈), held at the Asian International Arbitration Centre (AIAC) in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. 𝟐𝟕–𝟐𝟗 𝐉𝐮𝐥𝐲 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔

The Timor-Leste delegation comprised representatives from the Ministry of Commerce and Industry (MCI), Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation (MoFAC), Ministry of Justice (MoJ), Customs Authority under the Ministry of Finance (MoF), and the National Authority of Petroleum (ANP) under the Ministry of Petroleum and Mineral Resources (MPMR), reflecting the Government's whole-of-government approach to strengthening trade governance and dispute resolution capacity.

Co-organized by the Asian Development Bank (ADB), the Asian Development Bank Institute (ADBI), the ASEAN-UK Economic Integration Programme Open Trade Pillar (AEIP OTP), and the ASEAN Secretariat, the workshop provided valuable practical training on negotiation, good offices, conciliation, and mediation as effective mechanisms for preventing and resolving trade disputes.

Through active participation in interactive sessions and case studies, the delegation strengthened its technical knowledge, enhanced inter-agency collaboration, and reinforced Timor-Leste's commitment to implementing ASEAN trade commitments. The knowledge and experience gained will contribute to the country's continued efforts to promote a transparent, predictable, and rules-based trading environment as Timor-Leste advances its ASEAN economic integration journey.
