His Excellency, the Minister of Commerce and Industry, Mr. Nino Pereira, and His Excellency, the Vice-Minister of Commerce and Industry, Mr. Augusto Jรบnior Trindade, participated in the Extraordinary Council of Ministers Ceremony, held at the Kay Rala Xanana Gusmรฃo Auditorium, at the Ministry of Finance, in Dรญli.
The meeting aimed to review the preliminary findings of audits conducted by the international firm Ernst & Young (EY), which is currently auditing 20 out of the 45 state entities initially designated for oversight.
Ernst & Young (EY), one of the Big Four global auditing and consulting firms, was founded in 1989 and is headquartered in London, United Kingdom. The company is internationally recognized for its extensive experience in auditing public and private entities.
During the ceremony, preliminary findings and recommendations from the ongoing audits were presented, covering both direct and indirect administration entities of the State. The report identified key challenges and areas requiring improvements in administrative processes and procedures.
The Government acknowledged EYโs recommendations and reaffirmed its commitment to transparency, good governance, and continuous improvement in public financial management.
This audit process aligns with the commitment made by His Excellency, the Prime Minister, Mr. Kay Rala Xanana Gusmรฃo, in his inaugural speech, where he emphasized the importance of auditing public institutions to ensure accountability and reinforce discipline in State administration.
