CAFI Meeting for the Approval of the Construction Project for Four New Markets and Shopping Centres

Dili, July 17th, 2025 – The Minister of Commerce and Industry, His Excellency Nino Pereira, accompanied by the technical team of the Ministry of Commerce and Industry (MCI), participated in the meeting of the Board of Directors of the Infrastructure Fund (CAFI), held at the premises of the National Development Agency (ADN, IP) in Fatuhada, Dili.

During the meeting, the Minister of MCI and his technical team made a presentation to CAFI on the technical consultancy services aimed at the preparation of the Detailed Engineering Projects (DED) for the construction of four (4) new markets in the municipalities of Ainaro, Covalima, Bobonaro and Manufahi, as well as shopping centres in Taibessi and Manleuana,   Dili.

The Terms of Reference (ToR) of this project were previously verified by the National Development Agency (ADN), through the reference letter of the Administration of the Infrastructure Fund, within the scope of the construction project under the "Design & Build" regime, scheduled for implementation in 2026.

The meeting was also attended by the Minister of Planning and Strategic Investment, Gastão Francisco de Sousa; the Minister of Agriculture, Livestock, Fisheries and Forestry, Mr. Marcos da Cruz; the Minister of Transport and Communications, Miguel Marques Gonçalves Manetelu; the Minister of Public Works, Samuel Marçal; the Minister of the Interior, Francisco da Costa Guterres; as well as advisors and technical teams from the respective ministries.
