Minister of Commerce and Industry participates in the solemn mass commemorating the 50th Anniversary of the Unilateral Proclamation of Independence of the RDTL

The Minister of Commerce and Industry and his entourage participated in the solemn mass at the Ave Maria Church in Suai, immediately followed by a procession to lay flowers and light candles at the monument of the Black September 1999 massacre.

This event is part of the commemoration of the 50th Anniversary of the Unilateral Proclamation of Independence of the Democratic Republic of Timor-Leste.

The main objective of this commemoration is to appreciate and value the sacrifice of the heroes and martyrs, and at the same time to renew the awareness of the new generation about the importance of the struggle for independence.

"In the homily, the priest left a positive message that the new generation needs to reflect upon and needs to follow the sacrifice and examples carried out by the heroes and freedom fighters for this beloved nation, who lost their entire lives to liberate this beloved land, until ultimately it governed itself and became a Sovereign and independent Nation under the name RDTL."
