Minister Nino Pereira encouraged the private sector and shop owners to continue working together not to manipulate prices so as not to harm consumers whose purchasing capacity is low.

“This inspection is to monitor the fluctuation in the price of basic necessities that are sold in shops or retailers in Dili, because now we say that it is near the holidays sometimes the price of goods can be high, but today we observe that the price of goods is normal, our entrepreneurs who sell goods also they do not manipulate the price of goods, because the profit that they get also in 25cen and 50cen with 1 dollar, especially like rice, for example, 25kg with different brands of different quality, some sell 13 dollars to 13.50cen now with a 25kg also with different quality brands, with good quality they buy with the price of 16 dollars, they sell 17 dollars we see that the price that is normal no profit is beyond the standard that we put in the price cost that, the price will be normal "_said Minister MCI

During the inspection of the stores and retailers selling in Dili, the Minister and his team noted that the price of goods is normal but reminded the shopkeepers, to organize goods according to their place and create the environment in the shop.
