His Excellency the Vice Minister of Commerce and Industry, Mr. Augusto Jรบnior Trindade, accompanies His Excellency, the Vice Prime Minister, Coordinating Minister of Economic Affairs and Minister of Tourism and Environment, Mr. Francisco Kalbuadi Lay, together with ambassadors, counselors and students of Timor-Leste, China, celebrated the historic day of the Unilateral Proclamation of Independence of the Democratic Republic of Timor-Leste for the 50th time in Beijing, China.
His Excellency, the Vice Prime Minister, Mr. Francisco Kalbuadi Lay, stated in his message that the celebration of the proclamation day is a reflection for young people, so that they cling to the principle of independence and continue to drive Timor-Leste into the future.
"Students who study in China focus on their studies and learn what they learn in China, because China is a rich and vast country. Enjoy well at school, because you are the hope of the future of the country", said the Vice Prime Minister.
The 50th anniversary celebration was also attended by the Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs of China, Mr. Sun Weidong, ambassadors of ASEAN member countries to China, representatives of the private sector, Timorese residents near Beijing and other citizens.
In addition, the celebration included an exhibition of typical Timor-Leste products and promoted tourist attractions through videos and pamphlets.
